PADI Scuba Diver Course

The PADI Scuba Diver course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you’re short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you, particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step for earning an Open Water Diver certification if that’s your ultimate goal.

PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:

  • Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.
  • Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment and participate in dive activities as long as properly supervised.
  • Continue dive training by completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification and taking certain specialty diver courses.

To enrol in a PADI Scuba Diver course (or Junior Scuba Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required

Day 1 - Classroom & Confined Water Training:

The classroom sessions begin at 9am where we will introduce you to the basic knowledge and theory behind scuba diving. The day starts by watching 3 chapters of PADI Open Water DVD and follow along in the PADI Open Water Manual at the same time. At the end of each of the chapters, there is some multiple choice knowledge review questions to answer.

After a break for lunch, we then start with confined water training. We first start to teach you to dive in a swimming pool or in shallow water from the beach as it offers a safe and controlled learning environment. You will practice a variety of different scuba diving skills split over 3 confined water dives in preparation for your Open Water Dives.

The approximate time for the first day of the course is 9am - 5pm

Day 2 - Open Water Dives 1 & 2:

We transfer all the skills you have learned in the swimming pool to a open water environment so for example the water will be deeper than in confined water, the visibility will be different, there could be waves or current to deal with but as you have mastered the skills in the swimming pool already you will be prepared and able to handle the different environment.

Maximum depth of Open Water Dives 1 & 2 is 12 meters. The approximate times for day 2 is 8:15am - 2pm.

Included in the course is the PADI Open Water Diver e -manual, PADI certification fee, log book, drinking water, all equipment, instructor fees ...

*Please note this a sample schedule and is subject to change.
